As per WHO report, Cataract is the root cause of blindness around the world with 51% of blindness being caused by cataract alone. However, in India, it is expected that approximately 54 million people from the age group 50 years and above in the rural as well as in the urban areas will be affected by cataract by the year 2020. Share Your Care has taken the responsibility to work towards Vision: 2020 objectives of WHO to eradicate needless blindness.
Considering the magnitude of the problem in and around Thane & western suburbs of Mumbai, Share Your Care conducts the following activities through the Bhaktivedanta Hospital: –

We screen appx. 60,000 people & operate about 5000 patients annually. Even if we achieve 10% Y-o-Y growth in our services, still the backlog remians huge to be treated.
